Birch in a breeze

It is a little difficult photographing tree leaves while they’re being tossed about in a breeze or strong wind. Here I have treated this birch tree as thought its portrait were being taken. To me, the long, thin branches bearing what’s left of autumn’s colorful leaves look a little like long, beaded hair. The white ‘skin’ of the birch stands out, while the lovely gold of the dried grasses beneath the tree glow in late afternoon sun. Sigh. So beautiful. I still can’t believe this was taken two weeks ago. Travel from one country to another, one time zone and more than one climate has the tendency to feel not a little surreal.
