Cross the bridge from Kalmar, on the coast of Sweden, over to the island of Öland. Drive aimlessly, turning hither and thither, following your instincts. You see a sign indicating a naturreservat, a nature reserve.
This looks promising, so you turn down the bumpy, pot-holed trail, wondering how much longer this “road” goes on; clouds are strengthening from the south, and who knows how long the sun will last. Fortunately, this excursion into the unknown led to rather extraordinary colors. I was looking for autumn colors, and I found them.
