There are times when it feels like pictures take themselves, in the sense that all I have to do is look at something and realize the subject of the picture is already framed, and all I have to do is capture exactly what I see as accurately as I can.
This small engraved silver vase with its casual collection of hand-picked wildflowers caught my eye. I had the sense to move the vase into a good angle, picking up the strong July sunlight from a nearby window. This is one of the pictures I just love, for its combination of bright colors and subtle shadow and light. This image is available for sale at Fine Art America.
